HAIRPLACE ONE, QUINCY, MA

"One of the reasons I chose custom design furnishings and fixtures is that I was working with a limited space and needed a certain amount of stations to fit into that space. Hairplace One was incorporated 56 years ago and we've been in this location for 30 years before our renovation. Our salon was a more difficult space to work with, being an old building and a very peculiar space in the way it is shaped. It was amazing what Curt [Brannon, Inner-Salon President] and Deb [Spaeth, Lead Designer] were able to do. Another concern was that our shop was already open, and I needed to continue to work around the renovations. In the end, we only closed the shop for two days while my furniture was taken out and the new furniture was brought in. I was worried, in the beginning, about working with an out-of-state company. Particularly, I was worried about how we'd be able to work over the phone, and what would happen when the stuff was delivered - that the trucks would arrive and they'd tell us it wasn't going to work in this space. I eventually made my decision to go with Inner-Salon, an out-of-state company, because I had been referred to Curt [Brannon, Inner-Salon President] through a mutual friend, and then spoke with a few people who knew him as well. Curt came with high recommendations for his professionalism and how much pride he has in his craft.

Working with Inner-Salon was incredible. We wouldn't have gotten that quality of service with anybody else. I didn't need to visit their showroom [even though I could have]. I just went on the website and they came out to me. Inner-Salon did a better job than I could have gotten even locally. We had a few "surprises" come up in the installation, but Curt had come out with his "just in case" setup and took care of it - he really did a masterful job. Also, we absolutely could not have gotten the results we did without working with their Salon Designer, Deb - she was phenomenal. We started out working together over the phone and through a few e-mails. I finally decided I needed to fly her out to look at our space, and it was the best decision I could have made. She did a tremendous job.

I think the best way to describe our new salon environment is that it makes us feel refreshed and rejuvenated. My employees love their new surroundings, and so do our clients. I, myself, can't wait to come in every morning, and don't want to leave at night. The reaction from everyone (clients, colleagues and vendors) has been great. People are always asking me who did it, and I've recommended Inner-Salon many times. We've been at this location for years and our clients hardly recognized the place after we renovated it. I had one customer I wish I had videotaped. He came in, looked around, and stepped back outside to check the sign to make sure this was still Hairplace One before coming back in. He literally thought he was in the wrong place.

All-in-all, working with Inner-Salon was much more personal and accommodating than any other company that I tried to deal with. Working with Curt, I found more than a business associate, I gained a friend. The people at Inner-Salon worked with me on a one-to-one-level. I just can't speak highly enough of them."
